Behind the scenes with UI Laundry Services

Each day, UI Laundry Services processes about 24,000 pounds of linens. Most of the processed linens are for UI Hospitals & Clinics and range from washcloths and blankets to healthcare scrubs and lab coats. The team of 45 staff at Laundry Services is dedicated to their work, and it has taken on greater meaning during the pandemic.

Congratulations to 2017 Diversity Catalyst Award Winner

The 2017 Diversity Catalyst Award winner is Gabby Blanchard-Shreck, Police Officer III. Officer Blanchard-Shreck started with the University of Iowa Police Department in 2013 and is active in community policing initiatives within the department. She manages the department’s Rape Aggression Defense program, the Fair and Impartial Policing training program, and is part of the Crisis Intervention Team in Johnson County.
