Biography

Lynne Finn is the associate vice president and director of Facilities Management (FM) at the University of Iowa. Finn brings over 30 years of higher education facilities experience to her position leading design and construction, utilities, custodial services, building maintenance and operations, landscape services, and supporting units in budget and finance, information technology, facilities information systems, emergency response, building stewardship, FM@YourService, and strategic communications.  Prior to the associate vice president role in FM, Finn served as the assistant vice president of Facilities Management, director of Business and Financial Services, and associate director of Campus Services in Building and Landscape Services. 

She graduated with a degree in economics from South Dakota State University, and is a life-long learner, particularly through involvement with professional organizations, including APPA – Leadership in Educational Facilities, and Big 10 collaborations.  She promotes learning and development through writing, speaking engagements, and teaching.  She is the program manager (provost) for the APPA Institute for Facilities Management, dean of the utilities core track and instructor in the operations and administration tracks.  She serves as contributing author and a member of the editorial team for Operational Guidelines for Educational Facilities: Custodial, a best practice and reference guide.  She is a recipient of the APPA Pacesetter and Presidential Awards.
