Faculty, staff, and students are invited to a groundbreaking ceremony for a new, state-of-the-art building that will house three of the University of Iowa’s most popular and top-ranked programs. The ceremony will take place at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31.

 

The six-level Health Sciences Academic Building will house Communication Sciences and Disorders (which includes the No. 2-ranked audiology program and No. 6-ranked speech-language pathology program), Health and Human Physiology, and the Carver College of Medicine’s No. 4-ranked Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science department. The building is under construction at South Grand and Melrose avenues.

 

Speakers will include UI President Barbara Wilson; Eric Hunter, departmental executive officer and professor, Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, and the Harriet B. and Harold S. Brady Chair in Liberal Arts and Sciences; Richard Shields, professor, chair, and department executive officer of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science; and Gary Pierce, professor and departmental executive officer, Health and Human Physiology.

 

Parking is available in Hospital Ramp 4.
